The rate you pay for electricity is based on the type of service you receive. The bill is made up of three parts: Generation, Transmission and Distribution Services (including State Excise Tax).

As of April 1st, 2008 the current charge for 1 Ccf of Natural gas is $1.4403.

Price for Equivalent Fuel (at CERC rates)

Service Charge- $6.50 per month

Ohio Gas Tax- First 1,000 CCF multiplied by $.01593

Gross Receipts Tax- All charges multiplied by $.0499

By virtue of CERC's nature as a member-owned utility, we do not participate in the competitive natural gas market. However, the information is useful if you are interested in keeping track of how CERC rates compare to the rest of the marketplace. For an accurate comparison, read the PUCO chart carefully for terms and conditions of the offers and whether they include tax.
