Marysville Fire Department hosts radio station

November proved to be an exciting month for the Marysville Fire department. Radio station B107.9 set up for an early morning broadcast and a tribute to Hometown Hero Award. 104-year-old Opal McAllister was presented with the Hero award in recognition for her decades of service, patriotism, teaching and infectious spirit of life.
During this broadcast, The Union County Shriners donated $31,000 to Union County area fire departments for the purchase of the Broselow/ Hinkle Pediatric Emergency Resuscitation System.
Each size-based set includes four procedural modules that include an Intraosseous module; an IV module; an Oxygen delivery module; and an Intubation module. Also included with the system are neonate and pediatric manual resuscitators, blood pressure cuffs, laryngoscope handles and Magill Forceps. Also included is a body length tape that is color coded to the specific modules. This allows the EMS responders to lay the tape next to a child and pick the appropriate color module that contains all of the correct size-based equipment needed in a pediatric resuscitation emergency.
